Ready to behold the father and son? Amazon unveils the first look at the God of War series.
Kratos and Atreus in the First Frame of the God of War Series
The God of War series has received its first frame, which Amazon shared on social media. It shows Kratos portrayed by Ryan Hurst ("Sons of Anarchy") and a bow-wielding Atreus, played by Callum Vinson ("Scarlet River").
Alas, the context of the frame is unclear. Atreus has drawn his bowstring while Kratos watches his son's actions intently. Presumably, the god of war is teaching the boy to hunt.
Despite rumors of a spring shooting start, Amazon actually decided to begin production slightly earlier.
It was previously revealed that the series will feature many characters familiar from the God of War series. Here are just a few of them:
- Game of Thrones star Ed Skrein will play Baldur in the God of War series;
- The God of War adaptation has cast actors for the roles of Mimir, Sindri, and Brok;
- Stuntwoman star Teresa Palmer will play Sif in the God of War series;
- The role of Odin in the God of War series will be played by Homeland star Mandy Patinkin;
- Thor in the God of War adaptation will be played by The Abyss star Ólafur Darri Ólafsson;
- Heimdall in the series based on God of War will be played by The Fall Guy star Max Parker.
The first episodes of the God of War series will be directed by "Fallout", "The Boys", and "Shōgun" director Fred Toye. Alas, the show's premiere window has not been announced.
