Rainbow Six Siege Developers Share Details of Y11S1 Update
The developers of Rainbow Six Siege have revealed details of the upcoming Y11S1 update as part of the Designer's Notes series. The patch includes extensive balance changes affecting specific operators, weapons, and gameplay mechanics.
The Skopós clone will become more defined: developers have reduced the health of her clones but increased their speed, emphasizing a fast yet vulnerable playstyle. This approach encourages smart positioning and tactical movement. Additionally, the smoothness of using her gadget has been improved: the time to transfer clones and the cooldown between switching them has been reduced. This will allow for quicker adaptation in combat and faster selection of the right tool. Furthermore, Skopós has received the Aruni punch — she can now more effectively destroy soft obstacles and interact with the environment. Combined with increased mobility, this enhances her utility during the preparation phase and while moving around during the round.
The T-95 LSW rifle has been added to Flores's loadout. This expands the operator's tactical options and gives players more meaningful choices. While Flores wasn't weak, his loadout had remained unchanged for a long time — now he will receive an additional tool for diverse combat approaches.
The legendary F2 weapon has become more user-friendly: attachments (vertical, angled, and horizontal grips) have been added, improving its handling. The developers acknowledge that this is a powerful weapon, and increasing its ease of use could significantly impact the meta.
Operators with ballistic shields (Blackbeard, Blitz, Fuze, Montagne, Clash) will no longer be able to simply break barricades at full strength. Now, a deliberate action will be required to destroy them. This will slow down attackers' advancement and give defenders more time to react, regroup, and counter-attack.
