Proposals from state duma deputies to completely ban anonymity on social networks have become increasingly frequent

Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy Andrey Svintsov proposed an initiative for a complete ban on anonymity in Russian social networks. In his opinion, every post and account should be tied to a real, identifiable person.

The parliamentarian stated that such a measure is necessary to combat manipulations, bullying, fraud, and other crimes on the internet. He also suggested banning the use of bots, bot farms, and the mass creation of content using neural networks.

According to the deputy, this ban can be implemented by adopting a federal law that will require all platforms to ensure a "honest, clean, and legal internet." Earlier, Andrey Svintsov had already proposed introducing a ban on the use of social networks for children under 14 and restricting access to them for teenagers under 18.
