Earlier this year, well-known insider and Windows Central editor Jez Corden In it, he states that the horror game Project: MARA, announced six years ago, has been canceled in favor of Hellblade 3. The latter is reportedly being made more appealing to a mass audience, which is why it will feature more action and unscripted moments.
Interestingly, in 2024, Windows Central wrote that Microsoft had approved the next game from Ninja Theory. It seems this game ultimately turned out to be Hellblade 3.
As for Project: MARA — this "experimental horror" never progressed beyond the concept and tech demo stage, leading to the decision to cancel it. Or, at the very least, to postpone it indefinitely, with all efforts now focused on creating the sequel to the successful series.
