Producer of final fantasy 7 rebirth explains why dragon quest 5 is his favorite installment in the series

Producer of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and other titles in the series, Yoshinori Kitase, says his favorite game is Dragon Quest V. The reason lies in the ability for the main character to marry one of his companions. The developer discussed this feature of Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride with the father of the series, Yuji Horii. They recalled how people argued about whom to choose.

Kitase himself preferred Bianca, the protagonist's childhood friend. However, nowadays he would lean towards Nera, a gentle and refined sorceress. It's worth mentioning that in the Nintendo DS and mobile versions, another option appeared. The hero could marry the eccentric Deborah — Nera's sister.

Considering the plot and screen time devoted to all three girls, the logical choice seems to be marrying Bianca. The protagonist and the player spend the most time with her, and she herself has cherished the dream of going on a journey together for many years before it happens. However, the other girls have also gained popularity among gamers. Horii believes that those who choose Nera and Deborah are "not looking for the easy way out."

It is worth recalling that Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride was released on September 27, 1992. It was released for the Super Famicom, PlayStation 2, Nintendo DS, as well as for Android and iOS mobile devices.
