Poor British gamers can now get a PlayStation 5, but without ownership
Sony has launched an official PlayStation 5 rental program in the UK in partnership with the Raylo service. The console can be arranged directly through PlayStation Direct, paying for it monthly instead of the full amount.
Contracts are available for 12, 24, or 36 months, as well as a flexible tariff without a fixed term. A three-year rental of the PS5 Slim will cost from £9.95 per month, while a monthly plan is around £19.50. The Pro version with 2 TB of memory is £37.49 per month. PS VR2, PlayStation Portal, and DualSense Edge are also available by subscription.
At the end of the term, the device must be returned or exchanged. Purchase is not provided.
Unlike Xbox All Access, where the console becomes the user's property, renting a PS5 is beneficial for short-term use—for example, during a major release.
