Petting a cat and hiring drunks, or 8 minutes in Havana with the level designer of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced
IGN ran a lengthy gameplay demo of the action RPG Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced from Ubisoft, with lead level designer Jean Strachan guiding a tour of a reworked Havana. The city comes across as busy and characterful—NPCs move w/ a believable, sometimes oddly staged energy, esp. in market scenes—and the demo switches between bright sunlight and sudden rain to show different moods. Edward Kenway drifts through the streets, slips up onto roofs to scope things out, deals with enemies in stealth, pauses to pet a cat (yes, really), sets a couple of local drunks on an unlucky fellow, and then finds himself in full combat.
