Payday in VR — watch the announcing trailer for Payday: Aces High
Starbreeze Entertainment has announced a new entry in the Payday line. The publisher points to Payday: Aces High, a VR spin-off from Fast Travel Games — the same studio behind the well-known "The Midnight Walk" The Midnight Walk.
Expect cooperative heists for up to four players. The plot hinges on the "Aces," pro thieves who claim they were set up by Warren Jupiter; after breaking out of prison they regroup to hit his assets. Targets include banks, museums, high-end residences (e.g., penthouses), and other carefully guarded places. Players will rely on gadgets and an arsenal of weapons — tact, timing, and a touch of luck will matter plenty.
For the last 15 years, we have admired how Payday allows players to immerse themselves in scenarios borrowed from the wildest Hollywood crime action movies and take heists into their own hands. This year, we are taking it to a new level with Payday: Aces High. Get ready to team up with three other robbers and experience an immersion only virtual reality can deliver!
Erik Odeldahl, co-founder and creative director of Fast Travel Games
Payday is one of the most iconic game franchises, with over 50 million players worldwide, and Fast Travel Games is a globally respected studio with more than a decade of experience in VR titles. They are the perfect partner to bring Payday into virtual reality. With Aces High, we are expanding the Payday universe and inviting gamers to plan and execute cooperative heists with full immersion. Under the guidance of Fast Travel Games, the upcoming game is not just an adaptation, but a full new chapter in the history of Payday, built from the ground up for this format.
