Over 500,000 people have joined the Absolum beat 'em up. The game will receive a content update

The creators of Absolum have announced that the roguelite beat 'em up has attracted over 500,000 users. The authors are talking about the number of players, not sales figures, but it's worth noting that the beat 'em up is not part of any subscription services and has not been part of any free giveaways.

Over 500,000 Rebels have joined the resistance in Talamh! From the high enchantress Uchawi and the whole Absolum team — thank you! ✨ To celebrate, Update 1.1: Threads of Fate arrives on February, 12th! On February 12th, Absolum will be expanded with the "Threads of Fate" update, which includes:

  • New mysterious challenges designed for experienced rebels. Players will be able to choose from pre-made challenges, as well as craft their own and share them publicly.
  • Corrupted regions with stronger enemies and more generous rewards.
  • Enhanced mounts with new abilities and more powerful attacks.
  • New skins and emotes for each of the four heroes.

What the update won't include is cross-progression — that will be added later.

To recap, in the game you'll be dishing out beatings to the minions of a despotic king. The locations are handcrafted, while the element of randomness lies in the items and abilities used to build your character. The energetic gameplay is complemented by gorgeous graphics and an epic soundtrack by Gareth Coker (the Ori duology, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown).

Absolum is available on PC (Steam), PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch. The collaborative development by studios Dotemu, Guard Crush Games, and Supamonks has won the love of both the public and the press.
