Story Trailer for Styx: Blades of Greed Reminds Us of the Protagonist's Vibrant Past

Ahead of the release of the stealth-action game Styx: Blades of Greed, publisher Nacon has released a vibrant story trailer. It delves into the protagonist's backstory, which was revealed in previous installments of the series.

The upcoming title focuses on the cunning goblin's hunt for powerful magical crystals. He is driven not just by greed, but by a rich history formed from various episodes of his two-hundred-year life.

Spoilers for Styx: Master of Shadows and Styx: Shards of Darkness follow

The protagonist is one of the magically created goblin clones. Alas, he is the only speaking representative of his kind. Intelligent enough to assess his situation, he killed his master—the original Styx—and destroyed the place where he was created. During the chaos, even more clones emerged. Over time, humans began capturing them.

Narrowly avoiding disaster, the main character embarked on an important mission to steal a certain staff, where he learned about a type of quartz. This mineral is stronger than amber and possesses unexpected properties. The crystal can subjugate to the owner's will anyone with amber flowing in their veins. This category includes goblins and those who consume amber as a drink.

However, it turned out that the elves obtained the substance from the blood of goblins, squeezing the poor creatures dry. Fortunately, Styx destroyed the laboratory. Along the way, the protagonist noticed that the quartz reacted strangely to him, as if there was something alive within the crystal.

To figure out what was happening, he organized a large-scale hunt for the mineral. This is where the events of the new installment begin.
