Only 8% of Arc Raiders Players Completed the Winter Event Cold Snap
The large-scale winter event Cold Snap in the shooter Arc Raiders from Embark Studios has come to an end. It didn't just add snowy landscapes to the game — it offered players a series of unusual challenges and vivid experiences, although completing the event's main task didn't seem to interest many.
Throughout this time, participants were immersed in the atmosphere of a harsh winter: they fought against hypothermia, engaged in massive snowball fights, searched for rare berries (Candleberries) for the special Candleberry Banquet quest, and also launched fireworks and threw firecrackers, adding color to the festivities.
During Cold Snap, players threw 95 million snowballs. However, only 91 Raiders were knocked out by these snowy projectiles, while 10,577 raids were disrupted due to accurate hits. Players also launched 2.9 million fireworks and threw 9.2 million firecrackers. Yet, the most formidable opponent, surprisingly, turned out to be the cold — 3.5 million participants were eliminated due to hypothermia.
The Candleberry Banquet quest deserves special attention. Despite the game being purchased by 12.4 million people, only a million players managed to complete the feast — that's just 8.06%. The developers suggest that the main difficulty wasn't a lack of interest, but rather that the candleberries proved surprisingly hard to find.
