On May 28, new modes with avatar battles will appear in Street Fighter 6
Developers from Capcom announced two new modes for Street Fighter 6 — spaces where avatars can be thrown into combat to see what sticks. The announcement gave a brief tour of the features; here’s what was shown.
- Random Avatar Matches — quick, online avatar skirmishes. To keep fights on even footing, levels and base stats are synchronized (i.e., normalized), and accessory slots are unlocked. Avatars start with access to all basic styles and super moves, so you can test combinations without grinding first. Battles grant exclusive rewards; win or learn, there’s something to collect.
- Avatar Arcade — a solo-focused option for leveling avatars and grabbing gear through fights with CPU opponents. It splits into two distinct runs:
- Spar with a Master — your avatar faces off against Street Fighter 6 cast members to pick up their moves. Difficulty is adjustable; crank it up and drops improve, plus move acquisition speeds up. In short: challenge = better loot, faster learning (e.g., higher difficulty yields rarer gear).
- Battle Tour — a sequence of matches against masters and NPCs borrowed from World Tour. Each course hands out specific rewards and can unlock old endings from the Street Fighter lineage. Occasionally a particularly tough foe appears mid-run; beating them nets rarer prizes.
Both modes arrive May 28. Also on that date Capcom will add Ingrid to the roster — a DLC fighter and the final character for the third annual pass.
Street Fighter 6 is available on PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch 2 with Russian text localization.
