Hardcore RPG Valorborn Gets Early Access Release Date

Studio Laps Games has announced the release of its new RPG sandbox, Valorborn, into Early Access. The game will launch on Steam on April 15, 2026, and will initially be available only on PC.

Valorborn is an open-world RPG set in a medieval fantasy world where the environment lives and evolves independently of the player's actions: inhabitants follow daily routines, factions vie for power in real-time, and dangers roam the lands freely. A key feature is permanent death, which forces players to carefully consider every decision, regardless of their chosen playstyle.

At the start of Early Access, players will have access to the kingdom of Tareon—one of the states of the fallen Allarion Empire. Notably, the practice of magic is considered the gravest crime here, even though it once played a vital role in the empire's culture and remains a significant force in the world.

The gameplay offers freedom of choice: players can become a mercenary, thief, hunter, or lone traveler, rent a house or set up camps, engage in crafting, hunting, trading, and theft. The world is fully open for exploration—every building and cave is accessible.

Valorborn can already be added to your Steam wishlist. The project promises to be a large-scale sandbox with a living environment, meaningful consequences for decisions, and an authentic medieval fantasy atmosphere.
