Dr Disrespect at the Center of a New Scandal Over Attempt to Falsify Partnership with Marathon
Popular blogger and streamer Dr Disrespect, who has 4.4 million subscribers on YouTube, has once again found himself at the epicenter of a scandal. This time, the reason was his actions related to the extraction shooter Marathon — one of the most anticipated games recently.
Dr Disrespect posted a screenshot on social media of a prepared cover for a stream dedicated to Marathon. The key detail of the post was the hashtag #marathonpartner — used by participants in the official developer partnership program.
The publication immediately raised doubts among the audience. Many users questioned whether Dr Disrespect had actually signed a partnership agreement with Bungie — the developers of Marathon. Suspicions were reinforced by a similar situation that occurred in January. Then the streamer showed his "invitation" to a closed preview of the game Highguard. However, the content manager quickly denied the authenticity of the badge — it turned out the document was fake.
This time, the reaction was equally swift. The official Marathon account made it clear that Dr Disrespect is not part of the studio's partnership program. The developers publicly disowned any agreements with the content creator.
In response to the exposure, Dr Disrespect reacted with irony. In his comments, he stated: "This is what the industry looks like in 2026." The phrase sparked a strong reaction online — some of the audience perceived it as a cynical admission of failure, while others saw it as intentional trolling and provocation.
