New projects in The Last of Us universe are at the "very earliest stage" of development

Naughty Dog Confirms Multiple New Projects Set in The Last of Us Universe

A "couple" of new projects set within The Last of Us universe are now in development at Naughty Dog, studio head Neil Druckmann revealed during the closing moments of "The Last of Us Day" celebration.

Druckmann, the creator of the series, did not disclose specifics about the upcoming titles. He did indicate, however, that they "will expand The Last of Us canon beyond the first and second installments."

The world of The Last of Us means a great deal to us, and we would not return to it if we had nothing substantial to say. We believe these stories are worth telling.

Details remain scarce, but the announcement effectively confirms that additional games in The Last of Us series are on the way — likely arriving on the PS6 console.
