Amazon Game Studios Head Christoph Hartmann Leaves the Company
Metamorphoses continue in Amazon's gaming division. Just a few months after the last series of layoffs, none other than the head of Amazon Games, Christoph Hartmann, is leaving the company.
Journalist Jason Schreier from Bloomberg briefly reported on Hartmann's dismissal. The reasons for his departure have not been disclosed yet. At the time of writing this news, Hartmann himself has not provided any comments.
Before joining Amazon, Hartmann worked at Take-Two for 18 years and, in the early 2000s, co-founded 2K Games. He took the helm of Amazon's gaming division in 2018. Under his leadership, games such as Lost Ark, Crucible, New World, King of Meat, and others were released.
It is currently unknown when exactly Hartmann will leave his position and what he will do afterward.
Schreier himself only added that Hartmann's dismissal is related to the fact that "Amazon continues to move away from the PC and console video game space in favor of its cloud service Luna."
