New Chrome Interface: Gemini Settles on the Left and Learns to Draw in the Browser

New chrome interface gemini settles on the left and learns to draw in the browser

Google continues to aggressively integrate AI into its products: in Chrome version 145, users discovered not just a cosmetic update, but a completely new interface for interacting with Gemini.

Previously, to use the neural network from the address bar, you had to click a special button on the right. Now the logic has changed — a "+" icon has appeared to the left of the input field, opening a menu with all the assistant's capabilities.

This menu hides a whole arsenal of tools: "Recent Tabs" allows you to analyze the content of all recently opened pages, Deep Search finds information beyond standard search results, and Nano Banana generates images directly in the browser without sending data to Google's servers.

When you select any option, the address bar expands into a full-fledged input field with suggestions. The old "AI Mode" button on the right hasn't gone anywhere — now users have a choice: quick access via the plus sign on the left or the familiar method on the right.
