More Details on Project Windless – Krafton's Action Game About a Battle Rooster

Korean video game publisher and developer Krafton has unveiled the first development diary for Project Windless – a large-scale action game based on the Korean fantasy series "The Bird That Drinks Tears." The game is being developed by a dedicated studio in Montreal.

The team aims to give players the opportunity to inscribe their own name into the history of an unusual world, free from common fantasy clichés. The story will take place fifteen hundred years before the events of the books. The developers promise to immerse users in the culture, traditions, and conflicts of the unique races inhabiting this universe.

The project's visual style is inspired by East Asian countries, but the creators are not limited to that, adding surreal Western motifs to the landscapes.

At the center of the plot will be a bird-like warrior from the Rekhan race – it is he who is destined to become the founder of the kingdom of Arajit, familiar to readers of the books.

Almost all content in the game will be optional. The journey is shaped by the player themselves: if you want, forge alliances with characters; if you want, simply explore the world at your own pace. The authors are betting on freedom of choice and generous rewards for curiosity.

The combat system promises spectacular battles with hundreds, or even thousands, of enemies on screen, rendered in real-time. At the same time, the developers haven't forgotten about challenge: the player will have to rely on their reflexes to unleash the full power and speed of the Rekhan.

The project has been in development for almost five years now, but a specific release date has not yet been announced.
