Monster Hunter Wilds Celebrates First Anniversary with Major Update Release
The developers of Monster Hunter Wilds have released a major update 1.041, timed to coincide with the game's first anniversary. The update not only launches a series of celebratory events but also introduces significant changes to gameplay and technical aspects.
In honor of the anniversary, players will be able to receive a daily login bonus until March 18. Furthermore, a rotation of past Festivals of Accord will be available during this period.
New challenges are particularly noteworthy: the Arch-Tempered Arkveld has been added to the game, along with 10-star Arch-Tempered monsters.
Anniversary events include a special collaboration with the upcoming game Monster Hunter Stories 3, whose release is scheduled for next month. Players will also get the opportunity to replay all previous quests and obtain previously available rewards as part of the themed event.
In a video address for the anniversary, series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto announced a "large-scale" expansion that will be released later this year. According to the developer, the expansion will be comparable to Iceborne for Monster Hunter World. Tsujimoto specifically noted that this will be the final update for Monster Hunter Wilds, although details about its content have not yet been revealed.
Update 1.041 continues the line of technical improvements that began at the end of last year with the release of Title Update 4. At that time, the developers implemented a number of gameplay and balance adjustments, optimized CPU and GPU performance, reduced loading strain, and improved processes specific to the PC version. In particular, new options and presets were added to reduce system load.
The developers draw players' attention to important technical nuances. To access DLC and online multiplayer, it is mandatory to install the latest update. Steam users are advised to update their drivers: for NVIDIA GeForce graphics cards — to version 581.57 or newer, for AMD Radeon — to version 25.9.1 or newer. However, the team warned of potential issues with AMD Radeon drivers version 25.10.2 and higher on certain configurations with AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT/7800 XT graphics cards.
