Modder Speclizer Attempts to Add Multiplayer to The Last of Us Part 2

Modder under the nickname Speclizer has announced an experimental development — an attempt to add multiplayer to the PC version of the game The Last of Us Part 2. The author shared preliminary results on social media.

At this stage, the project is in its infancy. According to Speclizer, only technical tests are currently being conducted. The multiplayer functions only in local mode: the mod allows launching several client instances and controlling them on a single computer. Full-fledged online play over the internet has not yet been implemented.

Most game mechanics are either missing or work with errors — the author directly calls the project "raw," considering only the most basic functions as implemented.

Nevertheless, even this early prototype demonstrates the fundamental possibility of integrating multiplayer into the PC version of The Last of Us Part 2. This has already become an encouraging signal for a part of the community interested in expanding the game's functionality.
