The indie MMORPG Dreadmyst is ceasing to exist. The game's sole developer has announced his departure from the project, citing accumulated work responsibilities that he had been neglecting since the beginning of the year.

The game's development stalled several weeks ago, and now support has been completely discontinued. In the near future, Dreadmyst will be removed from Steam; however, those who managed to add the project to their library will still be able to access the game server. The author does not rule out returning to the project in the future but offers no guarantees.

Dreadmyst was released on January 10, 2026. The game attracted attention with its old-school gameplay but quickly became mired in scandals: users accused the developer of using others' assets and inflating social media engagement with bots.
