"Minecraft Killer" Hytale remembered why it exists at all: the game is preparing to release "Chapter 1" with a ton of content

Six months after the start of early access, Hypixel Studios revealed the first major content update for Hytale, dubbed "Chapter 1." Rather than replacing what’s already there, the update adds handcrafted dungeons that sit alongside the procedural biomes players have been exploring.

Expect a multi‑phase goblin boss and a broader overhaul of the goblin faction: new roles, gadgets (e.g., rocket boots), and behavior changes. There's also a new timed event called the "Goblin Breach" — temporary portals that spill into unstable worlds for limited runs.

On the tech side, devs plan a revamp of crafting, tighter combat interaction with environmental elements, and an updated UI. New server and mod browsers are listed for rollout as well.

Studio head Simon Collins‑Laflamme says the content rollout will extend over the next 2–3 months. The team openly admits the build still needs work, so "Chapter 1" is presented as an initial installment rather than a final polish — expect more patches and iterations afterward.
