In Cyberpunk 2, the CDPR team is betting on maximum immersion

Creative Director of Cyberpunk 2 Igor Sarzyński stated that CD Projekt RED continues to bet on deep immersion, even if it means abandoning spectacular cutscenes and a third-person view. He noted that while working on Phantom Liberty, the team imagined how impressive traditional cutscenes would look, but consciously chose a different path: "It would be nice to set them up, but I value continuous immersion more." This explains why Cyberpunk 2077 almost exclusively uses a first-person view.

Formally, Sarzyński does not rule out a third-person view in the sequel, but considers such an option unlikely. He also responded to critics: "When you make something for everyone, it ends up being for no one. It's okay to disagree with our decisions."

Earlier, Quest Director Paweł Sasko said that the camera format for the sequel has not yet been determined. However, in 2025, a vacancy for a gameplay animator hinted at the return of the first-person view.

Currently, Cyberpunk 2 is in the pre-production stage.
