Star Citizen Creators Remind Again That Major Updates Will Now Be Released Twice a Month

In the new Inside Star Citizen episode, the developers announced a change to the update schedule for 2026. Major patches will now be released every two months, with small content additions expected in between.

The first major update of this year will be Alpha version 4.6, scheduled for release next week. It will include:

  • New missions to combat a fungal infection on Levski.
  • A night vision system for a range of ships.
  • The updated RSI Aurora ship and the new RSI Hermes.
  • Various items.

Throughout January and February, faction-based resource extraction and salvage missions, another new ship, and seasonal events for Valentine's Day and Lunar New Year will also be added.
