Marathon conducts server slam test servers first results and feedback

It seems the "thaw" period in relations between Sony and PC owners is coming to an end. Journalist and insider Jason Schreier, in the latest episode of the Triple Click podcast, shared insider information that may disappoint a certain number of players.

According to his data, PlayStation management has decided to reconsider its strategy and "reverse course" on the issue of releasing major single-player projects from the company's internal studios on computers.

The first victim of this new policy could be Marvel’s Wolverine. Despite the fact that previous Insomniac Games titles, such as Spider-Man, eventually made their way to PC, things might be different with the story of Logan. Schreier directly stated that "Wolverine" is being developed as a strictly console-exclusive PS5 title and will likely never leave the Sony ecosystem. The same applies to future installments of key franchises like God of War.

The reason for this 180-degree turn lies in the numbers. Sony has allegedly concluded that sales of single-player games on PC do not bring the expected super-profits, but they noticeably "dilute" the value of the console itself. And yes, the PlayStation exclusives that ultimately become successful on PC are either multiplayer projects or games from third-party developers like Stellar Blade, while single-player projects from Sony's internal studios are not held in high regard by the PC master race.
