Lost Ark (Korea) - New Raid, Activities, Gear, and More from the Recent Update
Adhering to the roadmap plans for the first half of 2026, the Korean version of the popular MMORPG Lost Ark recently received a major update. This update brought a new raid, several activities, new gear, various changes to existing activities, new systems, and various adjustments.
New Raid
A completely new type of raid called Shadow Raid has been added to the game. In it, you will face mysterious ancient beings from the abyss that existed long before the creation of order, have long since infiltrated Arkesia, donning the guises of various people, and after Kazeros's death decided to start acting. The first such being will be someone named "Serka, the Witch of Pain."
Key features of the raid:
- Designed for a group of 4, not 8 people like most raids before this. If my memory serves me right, this is the second 4-person endgame raid in the game's history, as the first was Ku-Satot.
- Available on as many as 3 difficulty levels - Normal, Hard, and Nightmare.
- The first difficulty requires reaching 1710 item level or, simply put, GS, the second - 1730 GS, and the third - 1740 GS.
- Each difficulty consists of two gates/stages. In the two videos below, you can watch their completion on Nightmare difficulty.
- In the first stage, you will fight the human shell of the being, after which the raid is named - Serka, the Witch of Pain.
- In the second stage, the being will shed its human shell and reveal its true form named Corvuth Thul Rak.
The standard boss stagger system has been replaced with a completely new, rather unusual variant called "Smash," which works as follows:
- After you reduce the stagger gauge to zero, the boss and the entire group will immediately be moved to a special space, presented as a wide line of white light. On this line are you and the staggered boss, who will be immobile.
- After the move, a special gauge consisting of three segments, as well as a timer below them, appears at the top of the interface.
- Within a certain time, indicated by the timer, by dealing damage to the boss, the group needs to fill the first segment, after which it becomes possible to unlock the second segment, and then the third.
- To unlock each segment, a specific condition must be met, and if I understood correctly, it is unique for each being. For example, with Serika, after filling a segment, the boss "wakes up" and then casts a special attack that must be blocked (or perhaps countered, it's not entirely clear).
The resurrection system in the raid has also been slightly changed, and the updated version looks like this:
- Each stage immediately grants a certain number of charges. Exactly how many depends on the difficulty, for example, on Nightmare - 0.
- If I understood correctly, in the first raid, there can be a maximum of 3 charges, and they are distributed among all characters in the group, simply put, they are shared.
- Charges automatically recover every 3 minutes. Once you reach the maximum number of charges, their recovery is paused, or rather, once the timer reaches zero, you will not receive a charge.
In addition to the above, new unique combat items called "Shadow Skill" can also be used in the raid.
- At least 3 such items can be taken for each stage of the first boss.
- When activating the item, you summon a shadow of the boss, which will perform a specific action. For example, the shadow of Corvuth Thul Rak deals decent damage of 26 million and has the maximum stagger level.
- Items can only be obtained through Stronghold crafting. Crafting the Corvuth Thul Rak variant requires Stronghold Wood and several regular Stagger Grenades.
- The recipe for creating the item can only be obtained as a reward for completing a specific achievement related to the second stage of the new raid.
Briefly about the raid rewards.
- For completing all stages of the first difficulty, a total of 35,000 gold is awarded, from the second difficulty - 44,000, from the third - 54,000.
- From the first difficulty, you can obtain pre-top-tier T4 reagents for weapon/armor honing and honing chance increase.
- From the second and third difficulties, you can obtain new top-tier T4 reagents for weapon/armor honing and honing chance increase.
- From the second and third difficulties, you can obtain new special items "Thorn of Pain" in quantities of 25 pieces.
- From the third difficulty, with a certain chance, a unique mount in the form of a witch's flying broom can drop. More precisely, one of three mount variants, differing in the color of the broom's bristles - black, red, white - can drop. Also, a unique effect for footprints/dash can drop.
- From all stages, a new legendary boss card can drop.
New Activities
Three new activities have been added to the game, or rather, sometimes slightly modified variations of already existing activities, available to all characters above 1730 GS.
Before moving on to their superficial description, it is important to note the following:
- A new extremely useful system has been added to the game, which in a separate interactive interface shows a list of all new activities. Alas, to unlock it, you first need to complete a specific purple quest that opens after reaching 1710 GS.
- Four devilishly significant changes have been made to the regular Guardian system:
- The resurrection charge system has been removed, simply put, you can get up as many times as you want.
- Guardians are immediately displayed on the map and no longer run away after X time has passed / you fulfill special conditions.
- Added display of Guardian HP, some players have been waiting for this for a full 5 years since the release of the Korean version.
- Slightly nerfed the scaling of Guardian HP based on group size, simply put, it is reduced even more.
Crack of Chaos
Essentially, these are the regular Chaos Dungeons, which the developers decided to slightly rename and stuff into a separate interface due to the overall shift in the story focus from Kazeros to the new threat. At the time of writing, only
