Live broadcast of the State of Play presentation and the Final Fantasy VII Revelation showcase – starts at 16:00 (MSK)
Sony will stream two back-to-back State of Play broadcasts today, beginning at 16:00. The regular State of Play airs first and will be followed immediately, without a break, by State of Play Japan. Both shows will be available on YouTube and Twitch. The main broadcast will be presented in English with Japanese subtitles; the Japan-focused show will be in Japanese with English subtitles. Actor Yuki Kaji will once again host the second broadcast. Sony has not published a running time for either stream, though regular State of Play episodes typically run about forty minutes.
Square Enix has the only confirmed segment so far: the main broadcast will close with an extended showcase of the world of Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the concluding part of the remake trilogy, which is scheduled for release in spring 2027. The title received a brief reveal at Opening Night Live during Gamescom, where the focus was on the Weapons. Aside from that, the event is described as containing “news and announcements from PlayStation Studios and third-party partners.” The Japan program advertises detailed breakdowns and new gameplay from studios in Japan and across Asia.

Last year’s State of Play Japan included appearances from Capcom, Sega, Square Enix, and Bandai Namco. Anticipation for this edition is unusually high because the Tokyo Game Show takes place later in September, and some publishers may have reserved announcements for that event.
These two streams represent the second and third State of Play episodes of the year. The June episode opened with a bloody scene from Marvel's Wolverine and delivered the first detailed look at God of War: Laufey. Sony deliberately withholds the full list of featured games—unexpected announcements are used to influence live viewer numbers.
