Kerry Condon to play mother in The God of the Woods show about a missing teenager
Deadline reports that Kerry Condon ("The Banshees of Inisherin") has joined the cast of the series The God of the Woods. The series is headed to Netflix.
Taken from Liz Moore’s book, the premise follows the sudden vanishing of 13-yr-old Barbara Van Laar at a summer camp. The case lands with investigator Judy Loptak, who becomes the thread pulling the story into darker places.
Condon is set to play Barbara’s mom — stuck in an unhappy marriage and now confronting a kind of grief that upends routine life and expectations. It’s a role that leans into private collapse rather than public heroics.
The lead role previously went to Maya Hawke ("Stranger Things"). Executive producers and showrunners are Elizabeth Hanna ("The Girl from Plainville") and Moore.
