It's even enviable how stubborn they are: the creator of MindsEye continues to believe in enemies who ruined his game and fires even more people
The studio Build a Rocket Boy — founded by former GTA lead Leslie Benzies — is still laying people off after the flop of MindsEye. Eight years of development, about £233M invested and only ~160k copies shifted; bluntly, it’s a disaster. Before release the team blamed a paid-troll campaign; once the game hit the market they added "internal saboteurs" to the list of suspects. Management now promises to produce evidence of espionage — timing and specifics remain unclear, and one can’t help but wonder whether this is a defense, a diversion, or something in between.
