Intel Core 9 273PQE turned out to be faster than the i9-14900K in the first gaming tests, but this is not certain
The new Intel processor Core 9 273PQE, released not long ago, has already shown up in early gaming checks run by an enthusiast. Fresh numbers claim up to ~9% higher fps compared with the previous flagship, the Core i9‑14900K — a margin that, in those specific runs, nudges it ahead of the Core Ultra 270K.
Reports say the ~9% lead appeared in Outcast 1.1 and Shadow of the Tomb Raider; Horizon Zero Dawn and Monster Hunter Wilds showed smaller gains, around 5–6% fps. Power draw is notable too: the 273PQE didn’t spike above 200 W in gaming runs, unlike the i9‑14900K — so lower Watts (W) under load were recorded.
A big caveat: this SKU won’t be sold to regular users. Getting it running requires special mobos or BIOS mods for standard boards, and those mods aren’t publicly available — don’t count on a wide release anytime soon. Treat these results as isolated data points: single-source tests, differing GPUs/drivers/thermals, and tuning all matter.
