In GTA 6, Jason and Lucia will suffer from lack of sleep - Rockstar even tracks their sleep
Rockstar North says GTA 6 will track how well the protagonists sleep as part of an in-game health app, a detail that adds another layer to the studio's push for everyday realism. Development head Rob Nelson confirmed the feature, explaining the app can show how rested Jason and Lucia are and that this will influence the recovery of certain stats. "We track a lot of things," Nelson noted, without revealing all the details of the system.
That focus on routine needs continues trends Rockstar introduced in earlier titles. As in GTA: San Andreas and Red Dead Redemption 2—where a character's weight shifted with diet and exercise—GTA 6 will let Jason and Lucia gain weight from overeating and lose muscle if they stop training. Other everyday mechanics are reported as well: vehicles will require refueling and recharging, long nights spent on criminal activities can change the characters' appearance, and players will be able to endlessly scroll through parody social networks.
One planned system that did not make the final cut was personal grocery shopping: Rockstar removed the requirement for players to manually restock Jason and Lucia’s refrigerator, deciding that particular level of realism went too far.
