In February, a major LORT update will be released featuring open lobbies and a new class.
Major LORT Update Coming in February with Open Lobbies and New Class
The developers of the game LORT have announced a major update scheduled for release in February 2026. The key additions will be open cooperative lobbies and the "Rogue" class with "Daggers" as its weapon. The Rogue class was originally planned for the second quarter but has been moved up to be included in the February release.
The introduction of open cooperative lobbies is one of the most requested features by the player base. Now, participants will be able to team up not only with friends but also with random players. When starting a run, the user will be given a choice: to create a closed session (for friends or via lobby codes only) or an open one (accessible to everyone through the lobby browser). All the familiar lobby management tools will retain their functionality.
Via the Esc menu, the host will still be able to adjust the number of participants, close or open the session, and kick players. Additionally, two new options will appear: instant switching between "Closed" and "Open" statuses, and the ability to ban offenders.
However, the developers have warned about several technical peculiarities. The difficulty of matches is calculated at the moment of departure from the camp in the van and remains fixed, even if someone leaves the game mid-level. In the future, the team plans to make the scaling system more flexible.
Another nuance concerns players joining a run while in camps. Such participants inevitably lag behind in stats, upgrades, weapons, and gold. The developers are exploring ways to balance the odds but are not yet ready to guarantee the implementation of this mechanic.
Furthermore, conflicts may arise in open lobbies over resource collection: some players take upgrades from chests and bosses without coordinating with the team. The team will closely monitor such cases to assess their impact on gameplay.
After the February update, the team will shift its focus to refining the difficulty system. The developers continue to actively gather community feedback to understand which aspects of the game require the most attention.
