In Dragon's Dogma 2, a permanent price reduction will happen soon, and microtransactions will be removed.

Capcom will remove microtransactions from Dragon's Dogma 2 and apply a permanent price cut starting June 25.

The change hits all platforms on that date and will be paired with a permanent reduction for digital copies; Capcom hasn't disclosed the new price yet.

Currently the standard price stands at €64.99 on PC and €74.99 on PS5 and Xbox Series (i.e., those are the listed rates for each platform).

The DLC being pulled was cheap — avg. €1–2 — yet triggered heavy criticism at launch for feeling like pay-to-win. Items included extra "Dragon Heart" units (revives), Rift Crystals, and an additional Warp Stone for fast travel. Over time many players noted that these things are easy to obtain through normal play, so the add-ons became mostly redundant. For a lot of the community this move removes a recurring gripe; reactions have skewed positive.

Only a couple of items will remain for sale: the "Explorer's Camping" set plus the game's music/sounds, each priced at €2.99. Those are also included in the new Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen edition, which bundles the base game and the expansion — the bundle's price has not been revealed.

Reminder: the Dark Arisen expansion arrives October 9 on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC. The base game plus the new content will be available on Nintendo Switch 2 the same day.
