"I feel like I won the lottery": Ellie Kemper on her role in "The Office"
The series “The Office” (The Office / USA) still has a warm spot in people's hearts — not just viewers but the cast, too.
Ellie Kemper, who played the awkwardly endearing Erin Hannon, recently reflected on her time on the sitcom and compared the experience to a stroke of luck.
"Isn't this, like, the gift of a lifetime? I felt like I won the lottery when I got into this series."
Kemper also said she was a fan before joining the show — e.g., she admired it from the outside — and thinks a big part of its pull is how the characters feel familiar to viewers.
"I think the reason it connects for people — at least for me — is that everyone can see a bit of themselves in these characters."
The cast still keeps in touch and occasionally crosses paths at public events.
