Hytale Secures Two Years of Funding Through Pre-Orders Alone
The RPG sandbox Hytale has avoided demise within Riot Games and is now preparing for its early access release. Even better, the revenue from pre-orders alone is sufficient for Hypixel Studios to continue developing the project for two years.
This was announced by Hypixel co-founder Simon Collins-Laflamme in his microblog:
«Hytale is saved.
Recall that since December 13, 2025, it has been possible to pre-purchase Hytale in three editions: for $20, $35, and $70. The more expensive options contain more valuable cosmetic items.
Pleased to announce that we have officially secured the next two years of development costs through pre-purchases. Combined with my personal commitment of ten years, we are looking very strong for the future ❤️ Thank you all for the support. Hytale is saved. We are almost home. — Simon (@Simon_Hypixel)
The head also clarified that Hypixel Studios currently has a staff of over fifty people. Funding development for a team of that size for two years would require a substantial sum.
Only a few hours remain until the Hytale early access release — the launch is scheduled for 18:00 Moscow time. For now, it will only be playable on PC via a separate launcher, which is available on the project's website.
Earlier, the Hypixel co-founder asked gamers to log into Hytale in advance to reduce the load on the team at launch. The title's system requirements can be viewed here.
