HLTV Explains Decision Not to Award nota MVP Title at BLAST Bounty

HLTV portal's editor-in-chief Martin "Striker" Švejda explained the decision regarding the MVP award for the BLAST Bounty Winter 2026 in Counter-Strike 2. The medal went to Bosnian player NiKo, even though his team lost in the grand final, while the player from the winning team, Emil "nota" Moskvitin, showed incredible statistics in the decisive match.

The Editorial Position

According to Švejda, the award is given for a combination of merits throughout the entire tournament, not just for the final match.

"Nota was not in the MVP race until the final," stated Striker.

A Late Surge

The editor acknowledged that Emil had an "amazing final," which propelled him to the top of the statistics, but emphasized that it was "just one series, three maps."

Statistical Paradox

Looking at the numbers provided in the broadcast, the difference in the final was colossal, but the distance of the LAN tournament belonged to NiKo. Despite nota finishing the final with a fantastic K/D of 60-36 and a 1.5 rating, NiKo's overall consistency on the LAN portion of the event (rating 1.2 vs. 1.14) was the deciding factor for the journalists.

The day before, the authoritative portal HLTV updated its weekly ranking of the world's best teams, noting the rapid rise of the BLAST Bounty champions. The PARIVISION team jumped straight to sixth place in the list, overtaking Team Spirit and becoming the strongest representative of Eastern Europe.

Earlier, the final viewership figures for the concluded BLAST Bounty Winter 2026 tournament became known. The championship's decisive match caused huge excitement, gathering over 787 thousand simultaneous viewers.

Recently, a former executive of the organization revealed the impressive sum spent on assembling the team's current roster. The expert stated that the combined transfer value of all members of the squad reaches three million dollars.
