Henry Cavill has confirmed that he will play one of the leading roles in the Warhammer 40,000 series from Amazon

Henry Cavill — producing for Amazon's Warhammer 40,000 cinematic universe — confirmed that the very first entry will be a series. Mike Flanagan is the one working on the script; Cavill also said he'll appear in a main role but is keeping the character details to himself for the moment (understandable, given the hype).

Parallel to that, he's backing an animated project at Blur Studio about the Deathwatch order — a direct spin-off from the short film in "Secret Level." It remains unclear whether that animation will be folded into the broader cinematic universe or released as a standalone piece.

Development on the live-action show is still in early stages: Flanagan is just beginning to write, so a premiere isn't imminent — not in the next couple of years, at least. In short: multiple projects in motion, timelines vague, and a fair bit of secrecy.
