Analysis of recent Counter-Strike 2 and Deadlock updates has pointed to active work on a mysterious project codenamed "hlx." Dataminers are confident that this codename hides the long-awaited Half-Life 3.

Tyler McVicker, after examining Source 2 engine game files, noted a key trend: the hlx team has not been adding new content for over a year, instead focusing on targeted technical optimization. The developers are purposefully replacing outdated systems with more advanced ones, which, in McVicker's opinion, indicates a final preparation stage.

"This is not the feature-adding phase. This will be the most optimized game Valve has ever made," stated the blogger.

It was previously revealed that hlx has been in development since 2021 by the Half-Life: Alyx team and is positioned as a single-player sequel with a focus on physics simulation, AI, and interactivity.
