Guild Wars 3 Announced. First Beta Test in Fall 2027

ArenaNet pulled the curtain back on Guild Wars 3, the studio's first new game since 2012. A short gameplay clip, captured in-engine, accompanied the announcement.

The story unfolds roughly a thousand years before the original Guild Wars, in Orr — the wild, magic-rich part of Tyria. Players assume the role of a Veilkeeper, a member of the Adventurer's Guild — e.g., someone who guards the spirits that linger in the land and tries to keep Orr from falling apart. It’s an older setting than fans might expect; for some, that shift will feel fresh, for others, oddly familiar.

Guild Wars 3 is headed to PC (Steam) and, for the first time in the series, to PlayStation 5. The first beta test is planned for fall 2027.

ArenaNet says more information will arrive across 2026 and 2027 — details on timing, test rollouts, and how the game actually plays will drip out over that period. Russian language support is not included.
