Green Hell continues to sell — already 12 million copies sold
The Creepy Jar studio has confirmed that Green Hell has sold more than 12 million copies across all platforms — 12M and still counting.
It started in 2016 with five devs; they didn't set out to craft a genre-defining title, just to make a game that felt true to life in the rainforest. The team has publicly thanked the fans, sounding a bit astonished and genuinely grateful for everyone who stuck with them.
Gameplay doesn't coddle you. Foraging and food prep take actual attention, predators show up at inconvenient times, and what begins as a crude shelter can evolve into something surprisingly elaborate after a few sessions.
Some people point to Green Hell when arguing about survival sims' direction; others treat it as one of many interesting experiments.
