Ghost Recon Wildlands returns the "Ghosts" to Bolivia to hunt La Llorona

Bolivia drags the "Ghosts" back into duty, but this time the enemy isn't the usual cartel map. In Ghost Recon Wildlands Ubisoft announced the Last Rites update, sending soldiers to familiar zones where something new — and stranger — has taken root after the old bosses fell.

When El Sueño and Los Extranjeros collapsed, a vacuum opened. Into that gap stepped La Llorona — the "Weeping Woman" — whose followers now control large swathes of territory. Rural towns and once-walkable routes have shifted into places you avoid after dusk, esp. where the cult's presence is strongest.

Mysticism aside, the "Ghosts" don't get a clean run: Unidad is back, too. The old state force returns as an obstacle, so expect tense firefights, ambushes, and missions that force you to push through cult-held areas and peel back what La Llorona claims is a divine cause (i.e., propaganda with teeth).

Developers tease a story that leans into regret and retribution rather than neat answers — personal costs, hard choices, bloody consequences. It sounds weighty; whether it lands is another question.

Last Rites is tied to the series' 25th anniversary. More details will arrive later; for now the "Ghosts" can only stow their gear, touch base with teammates, and get ready to return to the places where they once tried to put things right.
