The developers of the ambitious adventure game Crimson Desert intend to give critics an unprecedented amount of time to familiarize themselves with it. As announced at the New Game+ Showcase by Pearl Abyss marketing specialist Will Powers, review codes will be sent to publications a full month before the release, which is scheduled for March 19, 2026.

"I'm giving people a month with the game. Please. I think you'll need it," stated Powers, emphasizing the vast scale of the open world of Pywel, filled with secrets and content.

This decision serves two key purposes. Firstly, to give reviewers the opportunity to immerse themselves in the atmosphere at their own pace and experience all aspects of the gameplay. Secondly, to consciously avoid the rush of a packed release schedule, which often forces critics to make hasty judgments.
