Gaben sets an example: PlayStation Store conducts a large-scale cleanup of gaming junk
Sony has completely removed the catalog of German publisher ThiGamesDE, known for releasing low-quality games, from the PlayStation Store. As a result, more than 1,000 titles, such as The Jumping Spaghetti series, which are simple, repetitive projects created at minimal cost, have been removed from the platform.
This decision was a significant step in the fight against so-called shovelware — mass-produced, low-quality content that has become particularly widespread with the development of AI tools. The move followed criticism of Sony for promoting another low-budget game, Ebola Village.
The removal of an entire publisher may signal the beginning of a stricter policy regarding content standards in the digital store.
