Resident Evil Requiem Shows Excellent Results on Various Graphics Cards

German publication Resident Evil Requiem tested 19 graphics cards from NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel. Specialists evaluated performance at different resolutions with ray tracing and path tracing. All tests were conducted using upscalers, and a scene with maximum GPU load was chosen for measurements — in actual gameplay, FPS will be slightly higher.

Without RT at 1440p, stable 60 frames are delivered by the RTX 4060 and Radeon RX 7600. For maximum textures, at least 12 GB of VRAM is required — stuttering is noticeable on 8 GB. AMD and NVIDIA cards show similar results, and new generations (RTX 50 and RDNA 4) do not provide a significant boost in pure rasterization.

With hardware RT, requirements sharply increase. For 60 FPS at 1440p, an RTX 5060 Ti (16 GB) or RX 7800 XT is needed, and FSR 3.1 is used, which is inferior in quality. Minimum VRAM is 12 GB. In this mode, NVIDIA is faster, and RDNA 4 noticeably outperforms RDNA 3.

Path tracing is a serious challenge. 60 FPS at 1440p requires at least an RTX 5070, and at 4K — only top-tier cards. The RTX 5090 is 44% faster than the RTX 4090, which is the most significant leap. Frame generation improves smoothness, but the base frame rate should be no lower than 55–60 FPS, otherwise controls lose responsiveness.
