Chinese Studio Announces On the Edge RPG in the Style of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
A JRPG in the "wuxia" genre On the Edge based on the eponymous anime has been announced. Development is being handled by the Chinese studio San San Er Chuan.
The announcement was accompanied by a large trailer showcasing colorful locations and enemies inspired by Asian mythology. The video also demonstrated a combat system reminiscent of last year's hit Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
Details about On the Edge are not yet revealed. It is known that the game is being developed on Unreal Engine 5 by the same team that worked on the anime. The story will be different, though characters from the original source will appear in it.
On the Edge is expected to be released on PC, but no date has been announced yet.
Meanwhile, the "wuxia" genre can already be experienced in the action game Where Winds Meet, available on PC, PS5, Android, and iOS. In January, the developers released an update adding the Nine Mortal Ways camp and Mistveil Prison cave. Additionally, the update included the conclusion of Kaifeng's storyline and much more.
