Failure 0.17.0.0: Phasmophobia sinks in negative reviews after the update

Update 0.17.0.0 for Phasmophobia has knocked the Steam rating down — recent positive reviews sit at about 55%. A lot of players say the overhauled character models sap the atmosphere; complaints also pile up about an awkward UI and what many call "jerky" animations. VR users, esp., are louder: camera glitches and weird body proportions make the experience awkward or even sickness-inducing. Kinetic Games (devs) have owned up to the visual and performance problems and promise a first wave of fixes on May 12, targeting more responsive controls and better item readability. It’s messy right now, but patches are on the calendar.
