Minecraft to Get Real-Life Theme Parks
Mojang and Microsoft have announced the creation of two theme parks based on the Minecraft universe in partnership with operator Merlin Entertainments. One park will open in the UK in 2026, and the second in the USA in 2027. The total project budget is estimated at 85 million pounds sterling.
This move is part of a brand expansion strategy that already includes a film and an upcoming series. The parks are planned to be interactive, combining physical attractions with gameplay elements and the ability to unlock exclusive content in the game itself.
Partner Merlin Entertainments was chosen due to its experience working with global franchises such as Legoland. The company notes that Minecraft's audience, exceeding 300 million players, makes the project a long-term and promising investment.
