End of an Era: Train Map Removed from Counter-Strike 2's Official Map Pool
But Anubis Arrives
Valve will update the official map pool for Counter-Strike 2 on January 19, removing the Train map and bringing back Anubis in its place. The changes will affect both the Premier mode and all tournaments.
The return of Anubis comes after a six-month absence—it was replaced by Overpass in July 2025. Train, which was added at the beginning of last year, is being removed from the rotation due to low popularity: according to statistics, it accounted for less than 5% of all matches in Premier.
Earlier in 2025, the Counter-Strike 2 community was already noted as one of the most critical in the gaming industry due to constant player complaints about balance and content.
