Dune: Awakening to Receive Story Continuation and New Content on February 3rd
The third chapter of Dune: Awakening will be released on February 3rd. Funcom has announced the release date and revealed details of a major update focused on revamping the endgame based on player feedback.
The developers stated that the community requested more diverse and equally rewarding activities, deeper progression, and the freedom to explore Arrakis without being forced into a specific playstyle. In response, the team has re-evaluated high-level content, aiming to make it more accessible while preserving the original vision.
Chapter 3 will continue the main storyline and introduce:
- New missions for the Landsraad.
- 10 additional locations on the shared world map.
- Specialization and Augmentation systems for deeper character customization.
Significant quality-of-life changes are being implemented:
- Removal of base taxes, so players won't lose their bases after taking a break.
- "Returner Kits" with resources for those who haven't logged into the game for 28 days or more.
These measures complement existing tools like base reconstruction and increased storage, allowing for a comfortable return to the game after a pause. The recently added character server transfer feature also remains available.
