Dune: Awakening Patch 1.5.15.0 Enters Testing With Optional BattlEye, Flight Tweaks, and Combat Adjustments

Patch 1.5.15.0 for Dune: Awakening is now in testing on the public test server. Its headline feature is the option to run the game without the BattlEye anti-cheat — but only in situations where the software isn't mandatory.

Players will be able to disable BattlEye in single-player mode and on private or self-hosted servers that don't require anti-cheat. Attempting to join a standard multiplayer server with such a client will trigger an error, since BattlEye remains a requirement there. The team says it is also continuing work on game and server stability.

Ornithopter balance still in flux

Flying vehicle behavior has been adjusted as well. The Scout Ornithopter equipped with a rocket module now suffers a speed penalty of 10%, down from the previous 20%. That figure isn't final: the developers intend to keep testing the balance between the Scout and Assault Ornithopter on the PTC.

Crash fix and a gentler training curve

A bug that could crash the game when a large base was placed using the Base Reconstruction Tool has been resolved.

Newcomers should also find the combat system a bit more approachable. During the initial training, the shielded enemy now waits longer before launching a counterattack after the window for a Heavy Attack opens. The patch additionally addresses several problems tied to completing story missions and Journey objectives.
